FAQs from precasters

Answers about Verti-Crete concrete forming systems

We hope you're intrigued by the Verti-Crete concrete forming Stacker Systems - and we hope you'd like to know more. This section encompasses the topics we hear most often from other concrete precasters and ready-mix providers. But if you don't find your question answered here, please call us.

What are the Stacker System dimensions?

Verti-Crete Panel and Post Stacker systems occupy a very small footprint in relation to how much they produce. The Panel System has a footprint of 10' by 14' and can produce up to 960 sf of wall per day. The Post System has a footprint of 8'6" by 14' and can produce 10 columns per day.

Is it best to cast walls on site or precast them at my production facility?

Most of our licensees use Verti-Crete forms at a central production facility and then truck individual panels and columns to the job site where they are installed and stained. The forms, however, are designed to be portable. You may wish to temporarily move the forms and cast at the jobsite itself if the size and location of the job warrant such a move.

How are Verti-Crete walls installed?

Verti-Crete columns are installed on top of individual pier footings. Two pieces of rebar cast into the footing protrude up through a hollow center within each column. Each panel then spans from footing to footing and fits within a groove cast into either side of each column. Once a section of wall is assembled and leveled, each column is filled with concrete, thus anchoring the panels to the column and footing.

Do I need special equipment for installations?

You do not need large cranes for installing Verti-Crete panels and posts. A 10,000 lb all-terrain forklift can handle the panels and is much more maneuverable in small spaces.

How is the final coloring achieved?

The most common method of coloring is to apply a specially formulated concrete stain designed to resist fading and protect against moisture penetration by sealing the concrete. After the product is installed a base color is applied with an airless spray gun. Then, accent colors are applied to individual stones to create the subtle yet realistic look of actual stone. The texture, including grout joints, is created in the mold itself.

How much does the wall generally sell for?

The costs to produce and install Verti-Crete walls can vary widely depending on material costs, labor rates and local engineering requirements in your area. Please contact us for guidance on how to determine what your costs to produce might be.
